Following the successful high-level launch of the AUC Report Urban Resilience in Africa: Continental Review at the 2nd Africa Urban Forum (AUF2), the AUC and its partners have engaged in a wider post-launch dissemination of the report to ensure that stakeholders, including policymakers, practitioners, or the general public understand and can apply the findings. This webinar is the first of two sessions and introduces why urban resilience is now a critical development priority, using evidence from Africa’s first continent‑wide urban resilience report. The session highlights key findings from 50 cities across 40 AU Member States and links them to global and continental policy agendas, including the SDGs, the New Urban Agenda, the Paris Agreement, the Sendai Framework, and Agenda 2063.
This session provides an overview of the key findings of the report, followed by the second session (07.07.2026) which builds up on and focuses on how African cities are translating resilience concepts into action.
